How much is a Custom Cake?

The burning question!!! Unfortunately, There is no simple answer so more on this conundrum here 😀

I've filled out an quote form, is my order confirmed?

Not just yet! This is just a quote. No order is final until an invoice has been sent to you and confirmed by both parties with a 50% deposit paid. 
Note: Your final payment will be due 10 business days prior to your event. See T&C's for more on payments

Does my cake need to be Refrigerated?

YES!! The Cakeup Artist specialises in buttercream cake creations only; and Butter melts!!!! 🫠 all of our cakes need to be kept nice and cold to remain delicious, safe and structurally sound for your events.

Can you make it Gluten Free, Nut Free, Vegan or Dairy Free?

Unfortunately not, No.
Cakeup HQ is unable to offer allergen-friendly alternatives currently, given the handling of diverse ingredients and inevitable cross-contamination risks. We hope to cater to everyone one day!

You will have the opportunity to experience the full range of 14+ flavours within our custom cakes for all of your bespoke cake ordering.

Do you offer Tasting Boxes?

Sorry, we are no longer offering tasting boxes.

Do you have ready made cakes in store?

No. We are a product kitchen only with all cakes made to order. For last minute orders be sure to check out the online cake shop.

For Custom Cakes we recommend ordering at least 2 weeks ahead to avoid missing out on availability and allowing time us adequate time to source bespoke items for your edible art piece.

What inspo do you need to make my cake?

It doesn't have to be a cake! Inspiration for us can be as simple as a colour scheme or as detailed as a Pinterest mood board, Birthday outfit or Event invitation. Our entire vision is based off of your cakey desires and the inspo you have provided us with; we will never stray too far from this but can make decisions with free rein to better the final cake design aesthetic.

Okay but what on earth is 'FREE REIN' design?

Don't worry!! Allowing us Free Rein over design doesn't mean you lose control or have no say in your creation. If you see us use the term 'FREE REIN' in our custom cake design quoting process, we're basically asking you to trust us. Our creative process may be unconventional to some but allowing us to use free rein to our digression in the Cakeup kitchen makes magic happen.

I’m after something specific but I can’t see it on your website? Can I still order it?

Maybe. It doesn’t hurt to ask! Shoot through a cheeky DM* on our socials or contact us with larger requests via email hello@cakeupartist.com.au.

PS. don’t forget to have a good look through our galleries and make sure we are the right cake studio for you and your design requests. We specialise in buttercream cakes only.

Can you remake someone else's design?

No! Copying other's designs is NOT something we do here. We do however, appreciate all inspiration images of cakes (and beyond) that you are loving and will create something just for you with these in mind 🤍 

I need to make last minute changes to my order, is this possible?

Most of the time, yes! We strive to make your ordering process and cake experience as hassle free as possible. Anything we can do to help, please just reach out! We will always do our best
to assist. Fees may apply. T&C's.

You can currently choose from 4 variations of our Vanilla Bean cake when shopping from the online cake store. Vanilla Bean, Salted Caramel, Lemon Curd and Raspberry. YUM!

Can I customise a cake from the online shop?

You can make some unique selections yes, but not on every cake.

The online cake shop is designed to take the customisation hustle and bustle out of ordering so you can still enjoy some Edible Art by Cakeup on short notice, with a variety of gorgeous designs ready to go!

When can I collect my online order?

Our Pickup hours from CAKEUP HQ in Drummoyne are new for 2025! 🥳 just 3 days notice needed for online cake shop orders woohoo

  • Mon-Friday 10am - 2pm sharp!
  • Saturday 8:30am - 12:30pm sharp!
  • Sunday 9am - 11:30am sharp!

Where do I collect my online order from?

you will find Cakeup HQ within Maker's Day production kitchen your cake pickups @ selected windows (time slot selected at checkout).
We are located at Shop B 197/199 Lyons Road, Drummoyne NSW 2047.

Do you have ready made cakes in store?

No. We are a production kitchen space and all of our cakes are made to order.
*Make sure to get your orders in before with at least 3 days notice to have a cake asap!

I need to make last minute changes to my online order, is this possible?

We will do our best to accomodate changes 72 hours before your pickup date but changes may not be possible and fees may apply outside of this window. See T&C's.

Pickup and Delivery Q's

Where is Cakeup HQ located?

you will find us within Maker's Day production kitchen from Thursday-Sunday for your cake pickups @ selected windows.
We are located at Shop B 197/199 Lyons Road, Drummoyne NSW 2047. Street parking is available on Janet Street, with a short walk to the entrance on Lyons road.

Do you offer delivery?

For our custom cake orders, We sure do! Far and Wide too.

Custom orders now available for pickup and delivery 7 days a week in 2025. 🥳 We have a flat rate delivery fee of $50 within a 25km range from Cakeup HQ. Fees are applied to deliveries required outside of this KM range. Selecting your desired delivery window on your quote form will help us plan our timings but cannot guarantee we will be able to meet everyones preferred timings. See more on this and deliveries here

Can you deliver an order that I placed on the online cake shop?

No. All online orders are available for pickup only on selected days from Cakeup HQ. Please Note: our Fri-Sun online Pickup windows are strict and cannot be changed. Make sure you are selecting the best day and time for your pickup or have someone ready to collect on your behalf!

My delivery address has changed

Shouldn’t be a problem! Give us a call or email as soon as possible. No additional fees depends on our deliveries and pickups on your event date. Please note:
Change of address beyond your 30km range will incur fees outside of the flat rate.

When will my order arrive?

We work hard to ship orders quickly with AusPost as they come in on business days, working around our busy kitchen schedule. You will receive email updates as your items ship.
